Quality Accreditation for Fish City

Proud holder of the National Federation of Fish Friers Fish and Chip Quality Accreditation, Fish City, a family-owned and operated Belfast seafood and fish and chip restaurant, is once again among the finest fish and chip shops in the UK.

The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), the trade body that represents the nation’s fish and chip shops, runs the Quality Accreditation as a way of raising standards within and enhancing the profile of the fish and chip industry. It is designed to reward and promote ships that provide high quality products with high standards of hygiene, as well as friers who demonstrate a high level of competence.

To qualify, each shop must go through a rigorous inspection and assessment by an NFFF Approved Assessor who carefully assesses the shop’s product quality and taste, food safety, hygiene and cleanliness, food preparation practices, and customer service.

The National Federation of Fish Friers was established in 1913 and works to promote and protect the interests of some 11,000 fish and chip proprietors throughout the UK, as well as offering training to those wishing to enter the trade. Host of the National Fish and Chip Awards, the NFFF has received tremendous support throughout the years and is exceptionally well regarded in the industry. The Fish and Chip Quality Accreditation is an initiative designed to drive the longevity and growth of the fish and chip industry.

Each NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Accreditation is valid for a year, with retention dependent on the high standards being maintained as validated by NFFF officials and appointed assessors. Fish City has proven that it consistently serves some of the UK’s finest fish and chips.
